Nagle usłyszała za drzwiami stuk maszyny do pisania w gabinecie męża. Po chwili ucichł i wtedy odważyła się przestąpić próg pokoju i zajrzeć do środka. Gabinet był pusty. Szła dalej, aż doszła do łazienki. Uchyliłą skrzypiąće drzwi i nagle ujrzałąpełzającą po poręczy wanny upiorną rękę leżącego pod wodą trupa męża. Zemdlała, a po chwili już jej na tym świecie nie było. Biedaczka, ciężko chorowała na serce.
