Pierwszy Listopada – smutne święto...

Wchodzę w cmentarną bramę: kolorowo, wesoło, głośno. Kwiaty, głównie sztuczne przygniatają płyty grobowców. Czerwone róże, chryzantemy w nieprawdopodobnej żółci i pomarańczu niespotykanym w przyrodzie. Plastikowe goździki na drucikach. Na kawałku nie zajętej przez te cudeńka płyty nagrobnej płoną znicze. Też kolorowe, w przeróżnych kształtach i formach, ozdobione złotymi aniołkami i srebrnymi lilijkami, nagromadzone tak, że nie został ani centymetr pustego miejsca na grobie.

I nie ma pustego, cichego miejsca w natłoku moich myśli.

Tu rodzina Kowalczyków rozgląda się nerwowo, bo wiadomo, że na wybudowanie domu pożyczyli pieniądze od kuzyna z Niemiec. Teraz spoglądają w stronę bramy cmentarnej, czy nie pojawi się w niej ów kuzyn i nie zapyta o zwrot pieniędzy. Więc ustawiwszy cztery olbrzymie donice chryzantem i jakieś 30 zniczy, znikają czym prędzej z cmentarza.

W ostatniej alejce – ziemny grób bez kwiatów i zniczy. Chyba zazdroszczę pani Alinie Ossowskiej, że tylko ona na tym cmentarzu ma święty spokój...
