Wrogość między ludźmi tliła się jeszcze przed wojną. Ale gdy latem 1943 roku ukraińscy nacjonaliści zaczęli zabijać dziesiątki tysięcy Polaków, ich ukraińscy sąsiedzi musieli wybierać. Jedni pomagali mordować, a czasem nawet zabijali swoje polskie żony i dzieci. Ale inni ryzykowali życie, chowając Polaków na strychach, w schowkach i stodołach. Co spotkało panią Hermaszewską, gdy z półtorarocznym Mirkiem w ramionach uciekała przed banderowcami? Jakim cudem dziesięć tysięcy Polaków przetrwało w pospiesznie zbudowanej warowni, z której nie było żadnej ucieczki?

Czy żeby ratować innych, trzeba zdradzić swoich? Co polska pamięć o ukraińskich sprawiedliwych mówi o naszej tożsamości? Dlaczego w trudnych czasach największym bohaterstwem bywa zachowanie się po ludzku? Sprawiedliwi zdrajcy to próba odpowiedzi na te ciągle aktualne pytania.
